Three Steps to Reinvent Yourself and Own Your Power

A career change, a new business, or greater leadership responsibility can bring both opportunity and uncertainty. You may question your readiness or hesitate to move forward. Reinvention begins by examining those doubts and choosing a practical next step.

Within my Unstoppable Confidence™ movement, Do It Afraid is the call to action: take a thoughtful step without waiting for complete confidence. These three steps offer a starting point.

1. Shift Your Mindset

Identify the belief that is limiting your progress. Then distinguish an assumption from a genuine gap in knowledge, experience, or support. A useful mindset shift should help you respond to the challenge, rather than dismiss it.

Instead of “I don’t have enough experience,” consider: “I can identify the experience I need and take a step toward developing it.”

Reflection: What belief is holding you back? Rewrite it as a realistic statement that supports action.

2. Take Intentional Action

Confidence grows through practice. Choose one manageable action that moves you toward your goal: update your LinkedIn profile, contact a potential partner, outline a business idea, or enroll in relevant training.

Give that action a deadline. A specific commitment makes it easier to move from intention to follow-through.

Reflection: What will you do next, and when will you complete it?

3. Recognize Your Value

Your skills, experience, and perspective are assets. Identify three strengths and connect each to an example of how you have used it. This gives you evidence to draw on when presenting your ideas, pursuing an opportunity, or making a leadership decision.

For example: “I bring people together, adapt when circumstances change, and follow through on commitments.” Support each statement with a specific experience.

Reflection: Which three strengths can you apply to your next career, business, or leadership goal?
